KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress South 24 Parganas president and Rajya Sabha MP Subhasish Chakraborty lodged a complaint with Kolkata Police alleging that he is receiving "unwanted, unruly and illegal" calls and threats from unknown people. Taking a dig at BJP supporters, he stated that his busy schedule was being hit as he's constantly receiving such messages. Chakraborty also wrote in his complaint that the peace of his life was being "wilfully and wrongfully" disturbed.

The official complaint was lodged with Haridevpur police on Thursday. Police said a probe has been initiated. Sources indicated that most messages carried the "Jai Sriram" slogan at the end of the message. The cyber cell of detective department may carry out the initial probe.
The phone number that Chakraborty has referred to as his own, though, is declared to be that of CM Mamata Banerjee's in her affidavit submitted to Election Commission before the Assembly polls in 2016.
