The police cracked the murder of a 20-year-old youth in Kamalanagar within 24 hours and arrested a man, his sister, and a minor.
The victim, Nitesh, a welder, was stabbed in his neck at Shankar Nag bus stand in the area on Thursday afternoon.
The accused have been identified as Eshwari, 24, her younger brother Shivu, 21, and a friend of the duo. “Investigations revealed that Eshwari and her brother Shivu, fruit vendors in KR Market, lived in a rented accommodation in Kamalanagar, which did not have a toilet. They were forced to use public toilet by the bus stand. On Wednesday morning, when they were on their way to the toilet, Nitesh allegedly harassed Eshwari and when they objected to it, he beat them up. In a fit of rage, the brother and sister and their minor friend turned up at the bus stand on Thursday afternoon armed with a knife and attacked him,” said the police.
Gang of dacoits busted
The police busted a gang of 10 men who allegedly barged into a house belonging to Giridhar in Rajajinagar on May 12. In his complaint, Mr. Giridhar said they smashed the windows, attacked residents and robbed them of all valuables. The police have arrested the gang led by Bhaskar, 41, a resident of Basaveshwar Nagar. “They tried to scare the residents of the house to give up the property in a real estate transaction,” said the police.
Software engineer ends life
A software engineer was found dead in his house in Medanahalli on Thursday night. The police suspect that the deceased, Dinesh Kumar, 31, worked at a private firm in ITPL. On Thursday night, his wife who had gone to her home town, panicked when he failed to answer her calls. She asked a neighbour to check on her husband, which was when they learned that he had killed himself. The K.R. Puram police have registered a case.
