Couple found hanging from tree in Dahanu

MUMBAI: A young couple was found hanging from a tree on a field in Dahanu on Thursday.
Dahanu police said Nitin Balshi and Mamta Dapsi, both 24, were lovers, but she was recently married off to another man against her wishes.
The victims stayed in Sakrapada, Dahanu. Mamta was living with her husband in Palghar's Lokmanya Nagar. Nitin and Mamta left their homes without informing family members on Wednesday evening. A search was launched for them by late evening.
Police were informed about a couple hanging from a tree using a nylon rope on Thursday morning. The bodies were identified and sent for autopsy. No suicide note was found. Investigations revealed that they were in love but their families were against it.
The police have registered a case of accidental death.
