Protests seeking justice for students continue

ABVP workers protest in front of BIE office at Nampally
HYDERABAD: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers on Friday staged a dharna in front of the Board of Intermediate Education’s office here seeking justice for aggrieved students and demanded a thorough inquiry into supplementary exam question papers going missing.
On Wednesday, two trucks carrying question papers of various subjects, including physics, economics and zoology among others went missing from Warangal Police Station, days ahead of the advanced supplementary examination scheduled for June 7. The protesters also demanded that officials responsible for the errors in the exam results of Anamika Arutla — one among the students who committed suicide after failing the inter exam — and several others, be taken to task immediately.

“Right from collecting examination fee to releasing results, the board made several mistakes. They have played with the lives of students and their parents. The education minister, along with board officials, should be held responsible for the goof up and action must be initiated against them,” said P Srihari, city secretary, ABVP adding that the inter board should be revamped.
Insisting that the state pay Rs 50 lakh to the families of the 23 students who committed suicide, protesters questioned why action was not taken against Globarena. TNN
