Hyderabad: Man gets life term for raping minor

HYDERABAD: A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl in 2015. The mentally unsound girl explained what had happened to her to her mother through gestures.

According to police, the victim's mother, who works as a maid had left her daughter at the house of a person for whom she worked to go to a doctor. The accused, Chekuri Vishnu Murthy Raju, a resident of Jubilee Hills, picked the girl up, took ker to an isolated area in Krishna Kanth Park and raped her, after which he dropped her at Yousufguda. The accused went to the victim's house in the absence of her mother the next day and molested her again.
When the victim's mother came back from work, she found the girl crying. Through gestures, she explained about the assault and the family approached the police.
