PUNE: Due to the ongoing work of Shivajinagar metro station, the Traffic Department has implemented diversions near Shivajinagar bus stand from Saturday.

According to the traffic police, movement of vehicles between Shivajinagar ST stand and NT Wadi Chowk will be closed for vehicular movement from Saturday. The Traffic Department has suggested that vehicles heading towards NT Wadi Chowk from Shimla Office Chowk will have to take right turn at Chapekar Chowk (near Agriculture College) and head towards NT Wadi Chowk.

Similarly, vehicles from NT Wadi Chowk heading towards Shimla Office Chowk will have to take left turn at Chapekar Chowk and head towards Shimla Office Chowk. The road from Shivajinagar ST Stand to NT Wadi  Chowk, Dalvi Hospital to Devi Heights to Krishna Bhavan and Chapekar Chowk to NT Wadi Chowk will be a ‘no parking zone.’

Officials of the Traffic Department said they will deploy traffic officials to regulate the traffic. MahaMetro has taken part of land on rent at Sakhar Sankul, which has been provided to the State Transport Department for parking of buses.

As MahaMetro is about to start work of underground metro and multi-modal hub at Shivajinagar, they will be shifting the Shivajinagar ST stand to the Dairy land in Wakdewadi.

MahaMetro officials are building a temporary stand for the State Transport at the dairy land which will take a few months.
