A homeowner and his parents were found covered in blood after being tied up and brutally bashed by three men in a violent daytime robbery. 

The 34-year-old son was confronted by two men when he returned to his Frape Street home in Yokine, Perth at 4pm on Thursday.

The men bashed the son with unknown weapons before they tied his hands behind his back and demanded money and other valuable items. 

Some 30 minutes after the robbery began, the man's mother, 54, and father, 56, returned home and were also attacked.

Police said the two men were joined by a third later on before they ran off with stolen cash and items.

After the men left, the victims ran to their neighbours for help. 

'The doorbell rang, we didn't know who it was,' neighbour Kristina Mann told 9News.

'It was the wife covered in blood, I'm not sure what she said, she had a pair of scissors in her hand as well.' 

Police said they are looking for three men aged between 20 and 30 years old who have tanned skin and were wearing dark clothing.  

'The investigation is still at an early stage, we are trying to find out why this has occurred and this is part of the appeal for witnesses to help us piece together what occurred last night or yesterday afternoon',' Detective Senior Constable Evie Simpson said. 

All three victims are in a serious but stable condition in Royal Perth Hospital.
