The Good Place is ending after Season 4, according to creator Mike Schur.
The stunning announcement came via Twitter late Friday, when the show's Twitter account posted a letter to fans from Schur that acknowledged he'd always planned the series with four seasons in mind, and though there was temptation to keep the critically acclaimed and ratings-friendly comedy going past those 50 or so episodes, the team had decided to make this upcoming season its last.
"At the end of the day," the letter said, "we don't want to tread water just because the water is so warm and pleasant. As such, the upcoming fourth season will be our last."
