HYDERABAD: A 5-year-old boy, who went to play outside his house, got drowned in a
water sump at an under construction house in
Moosarambagh on Thursday.
Malakpet police said that Shaik Abdul Rehman left his house at around 11.30am informing his mother that he will be playing outside the house. As the boy did not return till afternoon, his mother
Shamshad Begum started looking for him at nearby places.
Searching for the boy, Shamshad Begum went inside the under construction house after some locals informed her that Rehman was seen nearby. While looking for her son at the construction site, she found him drowned in an open sump. She immediately alerted the locals, who pulled the boy out of the sump and shifted him to a private hospital. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.
Later, the boy’s family members lodged a police complaint against the owner of the under construction house. They accused the owner Syed Atiya of being negligent and not taking any safety measures. A case was registered under Section 304 a (negligence causing death) of the
Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Malakpet police station.
