A railway motorman was appreciated for his quick action in averting a major mishap.
At 6.20 a.m on June 1, when an MRTS train bound for Velachery was running between Fort and Park stations, Kamaraj noticed a boulder on the track. He stopped the train, got down and removed the boulder, weighing around 20 kg.
A case has been registered by the GRP and efforts are on to trace the miscreants who placed the boulder on the track. “The timely action of the motorman has averted a major accident on the track,” said souces. V. Balakrishnan, DIG GRP gave an appreciation certificate to Mr. Kamaraj.
