Rajkot:
A total of 3,960 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 13.86 lakh were seized from a truck and three bootleggers arrested from a farm in Sikara village of Bhachau taluka in Kutch district on Thursday night.
Police said the accused, identified as Ramesh Sharma, Sonukumar Chamar and Sultan Node, were dividing the IMFL bottles among themselves and transferring these from the truck to two SUVs and one car. “We raided the spot on basis of a tip-off about the arrival of the truck in Sikara village loaded with an IMFL cache. Apart from the trio, there were five others, namely, Vijayendrasinh Jadeja, Faruqhussein Node, Amadhussein Raoma, Ramdevsinh Zala and Himanshu Pandit, who fled from the spot before the raid,” said M S Rana, sub-inspector with Gandhidham local crime branch.
