TMC leader killed in North Bengal

Clashes between TMC and BJP workers continued across Bengal — from Dinhata in north Bengal, Mayureswar in Birbhum and Asansol in the Burdwan industrial belt to Kespur and Khejuri in West and East Midnapore, respectively — since Wednesday night.
In Cooch Behar’s Dinhata, Trinamool leader Azizar Rahman (60) died after being allegedly beaten up by neighbours Azahar Mia and his wife. Rahman was returning to his home at Petla. Locals informed police, who later reached Petla and took Rahman to Dinhata hospital where doctors declared him dead. The Mia couple was arrested and remanded in police custody for five days. TMC alleged that Rahman was killed by BJP goons.
