SV Chudasama,
the probationary sub-inspector of Makarpura, who had fired three rounds at a citizen in Tarsali, has gone on sick leave. Chudasama proceeded on leave immediately after being discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
Police said that they are investigating the case from all the angles and no arrests will be made until the probe is over.
“Chudasama is very much here. He went on sick leave even before FIR was registered against him on Thursday. We have begun investigations into the complaint filed by the PSI as well as Simit Prajapati who was injured in the firing. No arrests will be made till we gather all the evidences,” said Anupam Singh Gahlaut, city police commissioner.
Gahlaut said that blood samples of both have been taken and sent to forensic sciences laboratory (FSL) to ascertain if either of them was drunk. “From collecting CCTV footages to talking with the eye-witnesses, we are focusing on collecting maximum evidence.
DCP, Zone III, Sanjay Kharat will supervise the investigations.
On the night of June 3, Chudasama had fired three rounds from his gun at the Prajapati near his father’s paan shop in Tarsali after an altercation. Prajapati, who also owns another paan shop in Makarpura, had suffered bullet injuries in his abdomen and thigh. Police had recorded the statement of Prajapati on June 4 but the offence was registered only on Thursday evening.
Prajapati has alleged that on the night of June 3 when he and his brother Dilip were eating dinner, they heard people fighting and went out to see. On reaching their father’s paan shop, they saw a man and his father involved in a fight. He also mentioned in his complaint that it was only later on he learnt that the man was the sub-inspector Chudasama.
