British automaker Jaguar has issued a recall of its much-talked-about I-Pace all-electric SUV, for the 2019 and 2020 model-years.
The company is warning I-Pace owners of a potential electrical issue with the regenerative braking system, which could cause a delay between the time the brakes are applied and the car begins to slow down.
"A delay in deceleration, increases the distance needed to stop and the risk of a crash."
- Jaguar statement
The company’s engineers identified the cause of the problem in the course of carrying out validation testing for the 2021 model-year of the I-Pace.
In all, some 3,000 2019 and 2020 I-Pace SUVs will be recalled to have their software updated to reduce the delay between braking and deceleration that can arise.
