Yeezy chaos as sneaker fanatics camp out for up to ONE WEEK in freezing conditions to secure a pair of Kanye West's limited edition $340 shoes

Hundreds of shoppers have camped for days in lines up to 500 metres long to get their hands on Kanye West's latest $AUD340 sneaker.

Fans eager to buy the new all-black version of the Yeezy 350 V2 lined up in queues outside sneaker stores in Sydney and Melbourne ahead of their release on Friday.  

People stayed warm in tents, puffer jackets, scarves and beanies as temperatures plunged in both state capitals overnight. 

One person camped out for four days since Monday outside of the Adidas Originals store in Emporium in Melbourne's CBD.

A crowd of 250 people gathered outside of Footlocker on George Street in Sydney with police watching on. 

Six sneaker stores released the shoe in Sydney and another four in Melbourne. 

One Melbourne shoe fanatic - known as a 'sneakerhead' - was so sick of passersby asking him why he was there he put up a sign to answer frequently asked questions.  

'We line up for Yeezy, it's a sneaker becasue it's limited released, so we line up here,' the sign read. 

'You can join us or give some encouragement.

'We start camping here since Monday morning and it's gonna release at Friday morning.' 

It was chaos at George Street in Sydney due as one shop's raffle gave entrants the 'opportunity to buy the shoe'.

The Adidas Originals store in Westfield Sydney had people lining up outside of the shopping mall overnight down Pitt Street. 

There were four other separate lines on the city's main thoroughfare, George Street, at the Sneakerboy, Incu, Espionage and Subtype stores.   

The Footlocker, Sneakerboy and Up There stores in Melbourne also drew lines of hundreds of people. 

The Yeezy sneaker craze began in February 2015 when rapper Kanye West launched his first shoe with Adidas. 

The release of new models and different colours continue to draw huge crowds of sneakerheads across the world.
