PATNA: The railways has diverted at least 22 mail and express trains from June 8 to 19 due to non-interlocking (NI) work being carried out at Danapur station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the
East Central Railway (ECR).
The trains have been diverted via Pradhankhunta-Dhanbad-Gaya-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, instead of the Jhajha-Patna-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction route.
According to ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the diverted trains include the Howrah-Allahabad Vibhuti Express (12333/12334), Howrah-Jammu Tawi Express (12331/12332), Kolkata-Amritsar Express (12317/12318), Kolkata-Nangal Dam Express (12325/12326) and Howrah-New Delhi Express (12273/12274).
Similarly, the Kolkata-Jhansi Express (11105/11106), Howrah-Shri Ganganagar Express (13007/13008), Kolkata-Udaipur Express (12315/12316), Asansol-Mumbai Express (12361/12362) and Howrah-Haridwar Express (12369/12370) have been diverted via the same route till June 19. The Howrah-Dehradun Express (12327/12328), on the other hand, has been diverted from June 11 to 14.
“The Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12423/12424) and Agartala-Anand Vihar Express (20501/20502) have been diverted via the Barauni-Mokama-Patna-Buxar-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction route, instead of the Barauni-Sonepur-Pataliputra Junction-Danapur-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction route,” the CPRO told this newspaper.
The railways has also decided to divert the Bhagalpur-Surat Express (22947/22948), Jaynagar-Udhna Antyodaya Express (15563/15564), Jaynagar-Lokmanya Tilak Express (15547), Patna-Mumbai Suvidha Express (82355/82356) and New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express (12303/12304) via the Mokama-Patna-Gaya-Dehri-on-Sone and Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction route, instead of the Patna-Danapur-Buxar-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction route.
“The ECR has diverted the route of the Guwahati-Anand Vihar Express (12505/12506), Anand Vihar-Jogbani Express (12487/12488), Kamakhya-Lokmanya Tilak Express (12519/12520), Agartala-Anand Vihar Express (14019/14020) and Silchar-New Delhi Poorvottar Express (12501/12502) via the Mokama-Patna-Gaya-Dehri-on-Sone-Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Junction route,”Kumar said, adding the railways had cancelled altogether 16 mail and express and 10 other passenger trains during the period.
The Patna-New Delhi Rajdhnai Express,
Sampoorna Kranti Express, Shramjeevi Express, Magadh Express, Vikramshila Express, Garib Rath Express, Patna-Secunderabad Express and Danapur-Bangalore Sanghamitra Express will, however, continue to run on their original routes and stations.
