French Open: Djokovic through to the semi-finals

In Tennis, Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals of the French Open after a dominant 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 win over Alexander Zverev. Djokovic is aiming for a 26th consecutive Grand Slam win as he continues his bid for a four Major in a row.

In another Men’s Quarter Finals match, Dominic Thiem defeated Karen Khachanov for a place in his fourth consecutive Roland Garros semi-final.

The fourth-seeded Austrian sailed through No. 10 seed Khachanov 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and 47 minutes. Thiem, who finished as runner-up to Rafael Nadal in 2018 final, will now prepare to challenge World No. 1 and 2016 champion Novak Djokovic tomorrow afternoon.

While in Women’s Singles, American teenager Amanda Anisimova stunned defending champion Romanian Simona Halep 6-2, 6-4.

Unseeded 17-year-old Amanda reached the semi-finals of the French Open with a straight sets win over Third seed Halep.

Anisimova , the world number 51 will face Australian eighth seed Ashleigh Barty, who beat American Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5. In another Women’s Singles match, Ashleigh Barty defeated Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5 to reach the semi-finals. It was a clinical performance from the eighth seed to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final.
