The price of turmeric decreased on Thursday. In all the markets, finger turmeric decreased by ₹200 to quote at ₹400 a quintal, while the root variety sank by ₹400, compared to the previous day’s market price. The arrival of turmeric at the Regulated Marketing Committee decreased to 160 bags on Thursday. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants’ Association sales yard, finger turmeric was sold at ₹6,122-7,894, while the root variety was sold at ₹5,891-6,122. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,607-6,809. The root variety sold at ₹5,299-6,499.
