Miscreants vandalize temple, steal idols in Jamnagar village

Rajkot: Miscreants entered the Gauri-Shankar Mahadev Temple in Moti Rafudad village of Lalpur taluka in Jamnagar district on Wednesday night and took away idols of Radha-Krishna besides damaging the idol of Lord Bapa Sitaram.

Outraged by the incident, villagers marched to Lalpur and handed the mamlatdar a memorandum, following which police lodged a complaint against the unkown miscreants, whose numbers and identities are yet to be ascertained. They have been charged of hurting religious sentiments and also of temple theft.
“We have registered a case based on the complaint of a leading villager Vijay Kanjaria. The investigation into the case has been handed over to Jamnagar rural deputy superintendent of police,” said an official from Lalpur police station.
