Dale Thomas set for senior Carlton recall
Carlton have decided to recall veteran Dale Thomas after his suspension for an off-field indiscretion.
Thomas was banned by the club for drinking in public, at a charity event, two days before the Blues lost to St Kilda, an incident that drew public criticism from ex-champion and current club director Chris Judd.
Thomas' recall is the first major call at the selection table by caretaker coach David Teague, who will coach his first game on Saturday against the Brisbane Lions, following Monday's sackng of Brendon Bolton.
Thomas starred in the VFL last weekend, gaining more than 30 possessions in a standout display.
He was sorely missed by the senior side against Essendon, as the Blues struggled defensively. They had a highly inexperienced team, with 15 players with under 60 games of experience.
