Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (
NMC) education officer Priti Mishrikotkar said 1.74 lakh students of civic body, government and aided schools of the city will get 8.93 lakh textbooks when schools reopen on June 26. Textbooks will reach the schools 10 days before reopening.
Mishrikotkar, in a press release, said 1.74 lakh students studying in Standard 1 to 8 will get textbooks free of cost under the state government’s scheme. “Bal Bharti has sent the textbooks to the centres identified by the government. The process to distribute textbooks to schools from the centres has started,” she said.
For the last six years, the NMC is distributing textbooks as well as notebooks free of cost to the students on the first day of
school reopening.
