Pestered for property, farmer kills 41-year-old son

Vadodara: A farmer on Wednesday evening allegedly killed his son in Chhota Udepur for pester him over property issue.
According to police, accused Jaamsinh Rathwa and his son Ratan (41) had been indulging in verbal altercations ever since the former divided his farm and house at Kawant between Ratan and his other son. Since Ratan felt that he had been given a smaller share, he had been fighting with his father regularly.
Police said that as Ratan was not happy, he used to find petty reasons to argue with Jaamsinh. Ratan used to argue over reasons like having food or sleeping among others.

On Wednesday evening, the father-son duo again got into an altercation. Ratan was alleging that Jaamsinh had given nothing from his property to him, while Jaamsinh was told Ratan that he had given him whatever he deserved.
As the duo started hurling abuses at each other, Jaamsinh brought a bamboo stick from outside the house and hit Ratan on his head. Ratan, a construction labourer, collapsed on the floor and within a few minutes of lying in a pool of blood, died.
