New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be excited about the forthcoming World Yoga Day on 21 June — still two weeks away. He is now teaching ‘tadasana’ and we wonder if it’s going to be included in the Yoga Day exhibitions across the country.

New Home Minister Amit Shah took time out from his busy schedule to congratulate the Indian cricket team for their first win in the 2019 World Cup. This is not at all surprising — Shah is the president of the Gujarat Cricket Association.

From Home Minister Shah to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and now BJP MP Tejasvi Surya — looks like the Men in Blue have impressed the BJP. Surya asks Kohli & Co. to bring home the World Cup and make 2019 even more historic. For once, there can be no disagreement on that.

Ivanka Trump informed her followers that she and her father US President Donald Trump were en route to The Hague for a summit. That elicited some interesting responses from the twitterati.

Mahila Congress head Sushmita Dev invoked the “josh” catchphrase from the popular Hindi movie Uri to encourage the government to find the missing AN-32 aircraft with 13 people onboard. Alas, it will take more than just “josh” to trace the plane.

Congress MP from Assam Gaurav Gogoi says the formation of two new cabinet committees is indicative of the BJP’s arrogance. With the kind of majority the BJP enjoys in the Lok Sabha, who wouldn’t be arrogant, Mr. Gogoi?

There was a huge crowd outside actor Shah Rukh Khan’s house Wednesday on Eid and US TV personality David Letterman got to witness the spectacle.  Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill forwarded a photograph of SRK and Letterman together. Looks like Mr. Letterman is enjoying the fanfare more than King Khan.

It’s rare that a politician and more so a cabinet minister appreciates free advice and opinions coming her way from all directions. When Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman encouraged people to share their ideas for Budget 2019, she really got what she asked for — and said a pretty thank you, too. Wish the men in your cabinet follow suit, Nirmala ji.

New External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had big shoes to fill when it comes to his predecessor Sushma Swaraj’s Twitter popularity and her prompt responses to issues raised by the people on the micro-blogging site. Jaishankar has, however, jumped to his task, feet first. Just three days on the job and he’s already flagging twitter appeals — on an average three per day.

The BJP Karnataka continues its fairly successful campaign against the Congress-JD(S) government. The party now wants Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s holidays to be trimmed.
