Lucknow: Underperforming cops sent to police lines

LUCKNOW: In an effort to improve policing in the district, Lucknow SSP transferred 123 sub-inspectors while sent 60 head constables and constables to the police lines on early Thursday.
Lucknow SSP Kalanidhi Naithani told TOI that sub-inspectors who were not conducting proper patrolling in their police out posts were shifted while head constables and constables posted for a long time at the police offices have been sent to the lines.
"I took the decision of sending them to the lines after several complaints of misbehaviour with the public came to the fore. Also, the output and performance of these cops posted were not found to be satisfactory," said Naithani.
More transfers would take place in the district in the coming days, added senior police officers.
