LUCKNOW: UP government on Thursday suspended two officials of Allahabad's Naini Jail months after inmates allegedly consumed alcohol in jail barracks. A show cause notice has also been issued to the jail superintendent in the connection with the incident.
Those suspended were head-warder Mulchand Dohre and warder Krishna Kumar. The 30-second video, which went viral on Wednesday evening, was shot on the eve of Holi this year. It shows inmates having liquor and non-veg inside the barrack. ADG (prisons) had asked the DIG (jails) Allahabad to carry out a probe and submit a report less than 24 hours.
ADG (prisons) Chandra Prakash, said: “We have written for the suspension of the jailer along with deputy jailer and issued a show cause notice to the jail superintendent.”

“A detailed report will also be prepared and role of each and every jail official would be scrutinized. Nobody causing such breaches would be spared,” added Prakash.
Those identified in the video include Uday Yadav, Ranu, Parshad Pati Rajkumar and Gadau Pasi — all sharp shooters of different gangs.
