Addict thrashes son, 2, to death

Ludhiana: A drug addict thrashed his two-and-a-half-year-old son to death at Lakkar Bridge railway crossing on Tuesday morning.
Government Railway Police (GRP) has booked Mohammad Salman, 27, a resident of Durga Colony in Dhandari Kalan, on the statement of his wife, Mosam Khatoon.
GRP post in-charge Balbir Singh said, “Mosam told that she worked as a domestic help near Lakkar Bridge railway crossing. Mohammad thrashed their son while he was waiting for her near her workplace. ”

On finding injuries on her son, Mosam took her to a hospital, where he succumbed during treatment.
The body has been sent to civil hospital for the post-mortem. Raids were being conducted to arrest the accused, who was an addict, Balbir Singh added.
