A man who shot a stranger he mistook for his ex-girlfriend's new lover will spend 13 years behind bars.
Anthony Yoon Sun Soong, 26, was found guilty of attempting to murder Sam Wallace at a Gold Coast restaurant car park after a Brisbane Supreme Court trial this year.
Mr Wallace, a former Big Brother contestant, was shot in the thigh while he was driving with his housemate, Joshua Milani, who was dating Soong's ex-girlfriend at the time of the December 2015 attack.
Soong shot into the jeep Mr Wallace was driving four times after he organised for Mr Milani to meet him.
One bullet went through his right thigh and lodged into his left thigh.

Soong then approached the car window and held a gun to Mr Wallace' head. Despite the victim's repeated claims he had the wrong person, Soong pulled the trigger, The Courier Mail reported.
Justice Martin Burns said Mr Wallace heard the click but the gun did not discharge, presumably because there were no more live rounds or there was a jam.
'This was not a spontaneous act. It was carried out with great deliberation and as though you were a law unto yourself,' Justice Burns said.
'You are a singularly dangerous individual, capable of extreme violence, with little self-control.'

Prosecutor Phil McCarthy previously said Mr Wallace involvement was a case of mistaken identity, and that Soong had 'tried to kill the wrong man'

Justice Burns said the sole motivating factor behind the attack was 'rage' and to seek revenge against Mr Milani for sleeping with his ex-girlfriend.

Soong was sentenced to 13 years in jail for attempted murder, and was also sentenced to 18 months for burglary and 12 months jail for armed assault.
He will have to serve at least 80 per cent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
