Cape Town – American president Donald Trump has attempted to clarify comments that he made allegedly made about the Duchess of Sussex.

Donald made the clarification about Meghan in an interview with Piers Morgan on Wednesday.

All the royal drama started when - ahead of the politician's three-day trip to the United Kingdom - he was asked about comments Meghan made about him before she married Harry.

Meghan called Trump "divisive" and "misogynistic" in an episode of The Night Show with Larry Wilmore in May 2016, before the president was elected.

Speaking to The Sun about Meghan's utterances Donald allegedly said: "I didn't know she was nasty."
