At Eid gathering, Mamata appeals for Muslim support

KOLKATA: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday chose Kolkata’s largest Eid gathering to urge the Muslim community to continue supporting her, as she vowed to take her battle forward against those who came to power by “capturing EVMs”.
“There is nothing to fear. You go on supporting us... and see how we keep up the fight. Jo humse takrayega, woh choor choor ho jayega,” she said.

Sensing fear among minorities following the saffron surge in Bengal, Mamata said: “Jo darte hain, woh marte hain. Aur jo ladte hain, woh kamyab hote hain.”
State BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said, “The EVM spectre is haunting the CM. She accuses us of mixing religion with politics when she herself is doing it...”
