Just a day after going on sale in India and a few other markets, OnePlus 7 is already receiving its first update. The OxygenOS 9.5.4.GM57AA, which is 223MB in size, brings Google April security patch, DC Dimming, improved screen scrolling experience and more. The DC Dimming feature automatically adjusts the current sent to each pixel on display, thereby lowering the brightness while keeping the pixels alive all the time. This means that there won’t be any flickering and doesn’t strain eyes under lowlight conditions.

Furthermore, the update also adds OnePlus’s Fnatic gaming mode that restricts notifications and allocates system resources for the smooth and uninterrupted gaming experience. The feature can be enabled from utilities in system settings and then Gaming Mode. It also brings fingerprint sensor improvements, optimised photo quality and other general bug fixes. The OTA update has already started rolling out and should reach everyone within a few days. Users can also check for the update manually in the Settings app.

OnePlus 7 specifications

To recall, the OnePlus 7 ships with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop notch and Gorilla Glass 5 layer on top. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC with Adreno 640 GPU and boots Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS out of the box. The device comes in two RAM and storage variants – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, along with Face Unlock. In the camera department, the handset features dual rear cameras consisting of a 48MP primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture and 0.8-micron pixel size and a 5MP f/2.4 secondary depth sensor. For selfies, the phone gets a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera. A 3,700mAh battery with 20W fast-charging fuels the phone.
