  • Auction website Trade Me has removed a portrait of Jacinda Ardern from its site
  • The portrait titled 'Wild Rider' features NZ Prime Minister naked riding a horse
  • Drawing was pulled from the website by the company's trust and safety team

Website Trade Me has removed a drawing of a naked Jacinda Ardern riding a horse after the auction site deemed it inappropriate.

The portrait is titled 'Wild Rider' and shows the New Zealand Prime Minister riding a horse and not wearing clothes.

'Hand drawn by a local New Zealand artist, drawing inspiration from both our Prime Minister's admirable resolve and New Zealand's often wild nature and the taming of this with graceful poise in the act of creating peace and stability out of chaos,' the listing read.

The portrait had a starting price of $280 before being removed by the site's trust and safety team. It attracted a grand total of zero bids.

'Our thinking was that a large volume of complaints from our community was inevitable and we decided to pre-empt that feedback and remove the auction,' a spokesperson told Newshub

It is not the first time an NZ politician has inspired a naked portrait.

Former labor leader Andrew Little was depicted in a nude portrait by a local artist in 2016.
