After a brief respite owing to isolated showers at several places, the State is back to its sizzling self, with high temperatures being recorded in all the districts.
The heat soared to over 40 degrees Celsius everywhere including the city, which recorded a maximum temperature of 40.5 degrees.
The highest temperature recorded was at Adilabad, at 44.8 degrees Celsius, on Wednesday, while Hanamkonda boiled at 44.5 degrees.
Khammam recorded the maximum of 44 degrees, and Ramagundam 43.2 degrees. Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda and Bhadrachalam too recorded high temperatures, above 40 degrees.
Heatwave warning
The weather monitoring stations of the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), at most places, recorded temperatures above 45 degrees, and at a few places, close to 46. Heatwave warning and alerts were issued across the State. Meteorology department predicts heatwave conditions at isolated pockets over North Telangana, and thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds of 30 to 40 km speed at isolated places over South Telangana. In the city, temperatures may remain around 40 degrees.
