SP-BSP alliance heading for divorce, says Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti

KANPUR: SP-BSP alliance is based on vested interest and will be soon seeking a divorce, said Union minister and Fatehpur MP Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Tuesday.
“Since the very beginning, we all termed the SP-BSP alliance a ‘bemel gathbandhan’ (a mismatch alliance) and now the truth is before you all as they are now heading towards a divorce,” said Sadhvi while talking to media after arriving at the Kanpur Central railway station from Delhi on Tuesday. The Union minister also hit out at West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for losing her cool when a group of men shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in front of her car, asking whether it is a crime to chant the phrase in the state.

Sadhvi said, “She is doing this out of sheer frustration following drubbing of her party in the parliamentary elections.” On Thursday, Mamata had lost her cool when some men had shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as her motorcade passed through Bhatpara area of North 24 Pargana district. A video on the incident had gone viral on social media. Sadhvi Jyoti took charge as the minister of state in ministry of rural development on Monday.
“I promised the countrymen to take forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of developing rural areas across the nation,” she said. Inprevious government, Jyoti held portfolio of MoS for food processing industries. Sadhvi Jyoti also known as Sadhvi Niranjan was sworn in as MoS in Modi cabinet on 31st May.
