Maharashtra Governor, CM Fadnavis observe World Environment Day

Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and Founder of Isha Foundation Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev on Wednesday planted saplings at the Raj Bhawan on the occasion of World Environmental Day.

The tree plantation campaign in Raj Bhavan was organised in association with the Forest Department and the Dr Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishan.

Governor Rao, accompanied by the dignitaries, witnessed the plantation carried out by volunteers of the Dr Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan.

The volunteers planted 300 saplings on the occasion at the Raj Bhavan complex,which boasts of 6,000 trees of varied species.

Governor Rao, CM Fadnavis,and Sadhguru later visited the century-old beach at the Raj Bhavan.

Principal Secretary Forest Vikas Kharge, Secretary Agriculture Eknath Dawale and the officials of Raj Bhavan, Forest and Public Works department were present on the occassion.
