It will held on June 8 and 9

Russian institutions offering medical and engineering courses will come together at the Russian Education Fair to be held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture on June 8 and 9 .

Organised by the Centre in association with Study Abroad, the fair will aim to bring awareness on the quality of education and the subsidised programmes for Indian students. “This year, the number of seats for students who want to study in English medium has been increased from 3,000 to 5,000 seats. We are sure that this will open more doors for students from India who want to pursue medicine in Russia,” said C. Ravichandran, Managing Director of Study Abroad Educational Consultants.

This year, the NEET has been made mandatory by the Medical Council of India for pursuing medicine in the country and abroad. “After the declaration of the NEET results, we expect students to come forward and look at options in Russia as well,” Mr. Ravichandran said.

There are about 15,000 Indian students in Russia at present. In the past year, about 1,800 student visas were issued from the consulate in South India. The numbers this year are expected to increase, said representatives from the consulate. The fair will take place at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kasturi Ranga road between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both the days.
