KOLKATA: CPM general secretary
Sitaram Yechury has conceded that his party has been a victim of polarisation between Trinamool and
BJP in Bengal.
Calling the 2019
Lok Sabha poll performance of the Left “the worst in Parliament,” Yechury said: “The intense communal polarisation has squeezed the space of other democratic forces.
“Ebar ram pore bam” (this time vote for Ram, vote for the Left later) — this was the general milieu in Bengal. None of our party members or activists voted for BJP. But a large chunk of voters who had voted for the Left earlier went with BJP,” the CPM general secretary said on Tuesday in the midst of the CPM
West Bengal state committee meeting that began on Tuesday.
