PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said people like Union minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh issue controversial remarks with an aim to remain in news.
"Some people speak in such a manner so you people can make news out of their statements," Nitish said on being asked about Giriraj Singh's controversial tweet earlier in the day.
Gitiraj's tweet earlier drew sharp criticism from Nitish's party JD(U), which is an alliance partner of BJP in Bihar.

"How beautiful would the picture have emerged, had 'Phalaahaar' (a fruit feast) been organised during Navaratra with the same fervour with splendid photographs are taken. Why do we lag behind in observance of our own 'Karm-Dharm' (religious customs) in public, while staying ahead in making a show for others," Giriraj said in tweet in Hindi, while attaching photographs of Nitish, Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and other leaders participating at an Iftar party hosted by Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan in Patna on Monday.
Coincidently, in one of the photographs tweeted by Giriraj, Nitish is seen sharing space with his Sushil Modi. On Sunday, Modi had hosted a separate Iftar party in Patna.

Reacting over Giriraj 's controversial tweet, Sushil Modi said, he has been hosting Iftar party during Ramzan for the last 25 years. "I not only host Iftar parties but also do 'Phalaahaar'" Modi said.
"Giriraj Singh does not even host a party of 'Holi Milan'", Sushil Modi added.
