MLA-elect from Pendurti constituency Annamreddy Adeep Raj on Monday said that the ‘Panchagramala’ issue involving Simhachalam Devasthanam land would be resolved by the YSRCP government.
“The government will approach the peethadipatis since a case is pending in the court of law, seeking its withdrawal to resolve the issue,” he said at a ‘Meet the Press’ programme organised by Vizag Journalists’ Forum here.
It may be noted that Mr. Adeep Raj went on a five-day fast and undertook a padayatra seeking a solution to the issue that has been hanging fire since long.
Mr. Adeep Raj said though the government had issued a G.O. in a hurry, it was kept in abeyance in the name of Model Code of Conduct in force owing to the general elections. “During the TDP government’s regime, no serious steps were taken to resolve the issue. The new government’s approach will ensure to it that neither did the Simhachalam Devasthanam nor the people lose out. Land will be given in lieu or land to the devasthanam,” he said. Another regularisation should not be insisted since the lands had been registered once, he pointed out.
Pollution and jobs
He hoped it would figure in the Chief Minister’s proposed meeting with the Sarada Peetham head Sri Swarupanandendra Swamy on Tuesday.
“A solution will be found to the pollution allegedly caused by the NTPC and pharmaceutical industries, particularly shifting of Tadi and Swayambhuvaram villages on which the Chief Minister is firm. Though my constituency has several industries, locals are not getting employment. As promised by Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, 75 % of jobs will be ensured to locals,” Mr. Adeep Raj said.
He said action would be taken against the alleged land-grab reported during the TDP regime.
He wsaid that all his efforts would be focussed on remaining clean and going to election in 2024 with no corruption charges and fulfilling the promises he had made to the voters. The issue of redressing the grievances of those displaced by the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) would also be taken up, he said.
