SSC CGL 2019 exam analysis June 4, Shift 1: Quantitative was tricky and calculative

SSC CGL Tier 1 exam has begun today. Shift 1 of the SSC CGL exam has been concluded successfully. As per the response of the students appeared in shift 1, the paper was 'moderate to difficult' (Quantitative Aptitude > General Awareness > General Intelligence & Reasoning>English Comprehension).

This year the major change has been seen in the exam duration. The SSC CGL exam duration has been cut down to 60 minutes; earlier it was 75 minutes. Based on the students' response, we have compiled the complete SSC CGL exam analysis for Shift 1 of 4th June, 2019.

SSC CGL 2018 Tier 1 Key Highlights


  • There are a total of 4 sections, each carrying 25 questions
  • Each section carries 50 marks, and the total time duration is 60 minutes
  • However, the time limit for PWD candidates is 80 minutes
  • All the four sections were arranged in an ascending order starting with Reasoning and ended with English
  • English section of Shift 1 was easy, on the other hand, the General Intelligence & Reasoning was moderate
  • Students found the Quantitative Aptitude section a bit calculative and tricky
