BENGALURU: A 15-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of a paying guest accommodation where his father worked as a security guard, hours after he was scolded for spending too much time playing
games on his
mobile phone.
Gopal Singh, a resident of Panathur Main Road and class 8 student of a
private school, took the extreme step in one of the PG rooms in Marathahalli on Sunday.
Gopal’s father Harisingh Bhat had come to Bengaluru from Nepal seven years ago and worked as a guard in the PG accommodation. The family stayed in a rental house behind the PG accommodation.
Harisingh noticed that Gopal, second of his three sons, was addicted to mobile phone games. He scolded Gopal at 3pm and snatched the phone from him. An upset Gopal took the keys of one of the PG rooms and hanged himself from the ceiling, police said.
The incident came to light when Harisingh found the room key and his son missing. He rushed to the room to find the boy hanging. Marathahalli police registered a case of unnatural death and probe is under way.
Man jumps to death from buildingA 32-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a residential building at Munnekolala on Tuesday morning.
Marathahalli police said Sriramakrishna, who was from Andhra Pradesh, lived with his parents and elder brother in the first floor of the building.
The incident took place around 7am, police said. In his suicide note, Sriramakrishna wrote, “I failed to achieve anything in life. I am going kill myself.” He apologised to his parents and brother in the note.
