Top four Brisbane radio stations slip as 4BC, 4KQ, Triple J surge
The four frontrunners in Brisbane's radio ratings battle remain at the top of the pile, but all suffered significant slides in audience shares across key timeslots in the latest radio ratings figures.
Triple J, 4BC and 4KQ all gained ground on the front four, with 4BC now neck-and-neck with ABC Brisbane, as the leaders - Hit105, Nova106.9, Triple M and 97.3FM - lost ground.
97.3FM's audience share losses were minimal, but the same could not be said for the other ratings leaders.
In the overall audience share, weekly between 5.30am and midnight, Nova remained on top despite a 0.9 percentage point loss, Hit105 jumped into second, Triple M slid from second to fourth after a 1.9 percentage point drop, and 97.3FM went third after only a minimal audience share loss.
4KQ cut the gap on fourth from 2.9 to 0.7 percentage points, Triple J increased by 1.4 percentage points, ABC Brisbane dropped from equal fifth to seventh, and 4BC gained 0.5 percentage points.
For weekdays from 5.30am to midnight, Nova went top despite a 0.7 percentage point loss and after being equal second earlier this year. Hit105 stayed second after a 0.8 percentage point drop and Triple M plummeted from the top of the timeslot to equal third with 97.3FM after a heavy dive.
4KQ and Triple J increased their share by 1.3 percentage points, ABC Brisbane posted a small gain but went from fourth to sixth and 4BC gained 1.6 percentage points.
In the breakfast battle, the top four remained the same despite Nova's Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie losing 1.1 percentage points, Hit105's Stav, Abby & Matt dropping one percentage point, Triple M's The Big Breakfast with Marto, Robin and Nick Cody took a 1.1 percentage point hit and ABC Brisbane's Craig Zonca and Loretta Ryan slid by 0.3 percentage points.
4BC's The Alan Jones Breakfast Show climbed from seventh to fifth place to finish with a 9.4 per cent share, 97.3FM's Bianca, Mike & Bob dropped one place, 4KQ's Laurel, Gary & Mark enjoyed a 0.9 percentage point increase and Triple J's Ben Harvey & Liam Stapleton gained 1.1 percentage points.
For Drive, the top four again remained the same, despite the stations losing between 0.4 and 1.3 percentage points. Nova's Kate, Tim & Marty increased its lead at the top to 3.1 percentage points.
Triple J's Veronica Milsom & Lewis Hobba enjoyed a 1.4 percentage point increase, ABC Brisbane's Steve Austin retained sixth after another gain, 4KQ's Paul Kennedy remained seventh despite a 1.1 percentage point increase and 4BC's Mark Braybrook went eighth with a 1.1 percentage point jump.
