Kia SP2i Concept Officially Named Seltos

Hyundai-owned automaker, Kia motors has officially christened the production-ready version of the SP2i concept (India-specific model) as the ‘Seltos’. This model first revealed in 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. We already know Kia going to enter the Indian market soon. Kia motors will break cover of Seltos on 20th June, and its production-spec model will expect to hit the roads around end of 2019.

The name Seltos is inspired by Greek mythology and the legend of ‘Celtos’ the son of Hercules. Representing the brave and assertive spirit of Celtus, the ‘S’ in the car’s name implies speed, sportiness and strength, says the carmaker. 

The SP concept give the full sized SUV look with LED headlamps, dynamic turn indicators, LED bar on roof, faux skid plate and etc,. When it comes to India Kia SP will go up primarily against the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. The compact SUV is expect to be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and existing 1.6-litre diesel motor that powers the Creta. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 18 lakhs.
