Members of Students Federation of India (SFI) on Monday demanded the fee regulation committes be constituted in the district immediately to deal with the issue of fee hike by private educational institutions. The members claimed that number of corporate institutions had increased their fee by 18% to 35 %.
SFI Greater Visakha City Committee president alleged that that the managements of corporate schools and colleges were increasing their fee as per their whims and fancies even as many of them did not have proper toilet, drinking water and mandatory playgrounds.
SFI secretary J. Naidu said that the government should take action on the educational institutions which were selling books, uniform, stationery and others on the school premises at ‘exorbitant prices’.
He also demanded that the schools functioning without recognition be identified and action be taken against them.
