Centre to recast SCs’ scholarship

NEW DELHI: The Centre would soon recast post-matric scholarship for SCs with a new fund-sharing formula, Union social justice and empowerment minister Thaawarchand Gehlot said.
Assuming charge of the ministry for the second term, Gehlot said the reformulated scheme would do away with the concept of “committed liability”, under which a majority of the financial burden was on the states and was creating major arrears.
