Exit from Twitter just some digital downtime: Divya Spandana

NEW DELHI: A day after Congress social media head Divya Spandana quit Twitter, setting social media platforms abuzz with speculation about her plans to quit the party, the 36-year-old said the move was just some "digital downtime."
Responding to a TOI query about her Twitter handle being unavilable, Spandana said, "It's just some digital downtime. I highly recommend it for everyone at least once a year, if not every six months."

Spandana, who frequently tweets against the BJP, had last tweeted a congratulatory message to newly-sworn in finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. "Congratulations @nsitharaman on taking charge of a portfolio that was only last held by another woman, Indira Gandhiji in 1970 - makes us womenfolk proud! The GDP not looking great, I'm sure you will do your best to revive the economy. You have our support. Best wishes," Spandana had tweeted from her official handle @divyaspandana on Friday.
After a day of inactivity on Twitter, she deleted her account. A search for @divyaspandana on Sunday showed a page with the message, "Sorry, that page doesn't exist!".
