From Trump to Lady Gaga, a lot's happened in the world since rates last changed

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) board on Tuesday sliced official interest rates to 1.25 per cent - the lowest level on record.

It also marked the end of a record period of rates remaining at the same level.

The RBA, then under governor Glenn Stevens, took the cash rate to 1.5 per cent in August 2016.

A lot has changed since then, not least that Mr Stevens finished his term and was replaced by Philip Lowe.

Nine Marvel Cinematic Universe films have been released, with the global gross of all the films topping $US18 billion, before Endgame.
