Eid Ul Fitr, which marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan, will be celebrated across the India today June 5.
Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari and several other Moon committe last evening announced moon has been sighted in Uttarakhand and Bihar in the evening so Eid Ul Fitr will be celebrated on June 5.
President, Vice President, PM greet on eve of Eid
President Ram Nath Kovind, has greeted fellow citizens on the eve of Eid Ul Fitr. In his message, Mr Kovind said that marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan, this festival strengthens our belief in charity, fraternity and compassion. He said, on this day, we should re-dedicate ourselves to these eternal values that characterise our civilization.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has also greeted the people on the eve of Id-ul-Fitr. In a message, he said, Id-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan and it is a celebration of sincere devotion, charity, brotherhood and gratitude to the Almighty. Mr Naidu said, the essence of the festival lies in the sharing of love and joy with each other.
