BJP State vice-president P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy has demanded that the State government must order a probe into all the corruption charges levelled against the previous TDP government.
“The government should bring out a white paper on the plans for the construction of new capital at Amaravati. It should keep only the land required for the construction of capital and distribute the rest among the poor,” he told the media here on Monday.
Alleging that a decision to buy textbooks worth crores of rupees benefiting certain corporate houses was taken during the chief ministerial tenure of N. Chandrababu Naidu. “The officials was pressurised to issue the orders. It is time the new government launched an enquiry. Similarly, the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme was being exploited to benefit some corporate hospitals and it should also be probed,” he said.
Free sand policy
Picking holes in the free sand policy of the previous TDP government, Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said it should be reviewed and the YSRCP government must ensure free sand to the poor.
Alleging that Congress and the Left parties were trying to create a rift among people by raising the issue of Special Category Status (SCS), he said that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre was ready to ensure all the benefits to Andhra Pradesh without according the status. BJP city president M. Nagendra was present on the occasion.
