Share market update: Private Bank shares advance; YES Bank up over 1%

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.24 per cent up at 17,732.40 around 02:04 pm.

NEW DELHI: Shares of Private banks were trading higher in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of YES Bank (up 1.51 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.43 per cent), DCB Bank (up 1.29 per cent) and IDFC First Bank (up 0.88 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.44 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.37 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.20 per cent) too were trading higher.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.24 per cent up at 17,732.40 around 02:04 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 37.75 points at 12,050.80 while the BSE Sensex was down 77.04 points at 40,190.58.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Rail Vikas Nigam, Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and Oriental Bank were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
