Rape-accused escapes from police custody

Palanpur: A 25-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with abduction and rape of a minor girl, escaped from police custody from the second floor of a hospital on Monday night.
Accused Vishnuji Bhagvanji Thakor, a native of Jakhok village of Patan was shifted to Dharpur hospital in Patan after he suffered nose bleeding due to heat. Police said he escaped from the toilet’s ventilator at about 9.30 pm. Cops registered a case under section 223, 224, and 114 of IPC against the accused and four cops on duty, sources said.
